What you will learn

8 concrete outcomes

Every bullet below is something you will have built, shipped or be able to explain by the time you finish the last lesson.

  • Run an audit conversation that uncovers automatable work in any small business
  • Quantify current cost in hours and errors before proposing anything
  • Build document extraction that produces structured, checkable records
  • Ship email triage and drafting with a human approving every send
  • Deliver a retrieval assistant over documents the company cannot search
  • Put cost ceilings and human checkpoints into every automation
  • Package work into fixed-scope offers with a de-risked pilot
  • Convert a first automation into a support retainer that lasts

Requirements

Short list, and deliberately so. If you meet these you can start today.

  • Comfortable writing Python and integrating third-party APIs
  • Some experience calling a model API
  • Willingness to talk to business owners rather than only build

About this course

Small businesses have expensive, repetitive, text-shaped work everywhere: quotes retyped from emails, invoices matched by hand, enquiries triaged by whoever is nearest, reports assembled every Monday from four spreadsheets. Language models are unusually good at exactly this, and almost nobody is selling it to them competently.

This course teaches the whole offer, not just the build. You start by learning to find automatable work in a business you know nothing about, through an audit conversation that any owner will happily give you an hour for. You quantify the current cost in hours and errors, because a proposal that leads with a number is a different document from one that leads with technology.

The technical middle is deliberately practical: document extraction into structured records, email triage and drafting with a human approving the send, a retrieval assistant over the company knowledge that nobody can find, spreadsheet and report generation, and integration through the tools these businesses already pay for.

The commercial third covers packaging into fixed-scope offers, a pilot structure that de-risks the first purchase, ongoing support retainers that produce predictable income, honest expectation setting about what models get wrong, and the delivery process that turns one small automation into a client relationship lasting years.

Frequently asked questions

Still unsure about something? Write to misteryjj100@gmail.com and a human answers, usually the same working day.

No. The first modules cover finding the initial three, including the approach that works when you have no case studies yet and must lead with an audit instead.

No. You write real integrations in Python. No-code platforms are compared honestly, including where they are the right recommendation for a small client.

A full module covers human checkpoints, scope limits, what to put in an agreement and how to set expectations before the first automation goes live.

Laura went independent after seven years of agency work and now designs the prompt libraries that sit behind other people's products. She treats prompting as engineering: versioned prompts, a held-out evaluation set, a regression run before anything ships, and a token budget you have to hit. Her packs are the ones she uses with her own clients — briefing, rewriting, summarising, review — rather than sanitised examples, and each comes with notes on where it fails. She keeps every pack working across ChatGPT, Claude and a small open model, so the technique outlives the model.
