  • Basic HTML and CSS; the path assumes no JavaScript knowledge at all
  • A computer with Node 20 or newer, a container runtime and a code editor
  • Roughly ten hours a week to finish within a single quarter

About this course

Most people learning JavaScript stall not from lack of material but from lack of sequence. This path removes that problem by being one continuous route, from your first function to a deployed application with a database, authentication and tests, with no gap where you have to guess what comes next.

It begins with the language and the browser: values, functions, the DOM, events, forms and fetch. It then adds the tooling that makes real work possible, npm, Vite, ESLint, Prettier and Git, before introducing TypeScript as a gradual layer rather than a separate universe. React follows with components, state, effects, routing and data fetching, taught with the current function-component model and no class-component detours.

The back half is server side: a Node and Fastify API, PostgreSQL with migrations, authentication with sessions, file uploads, and end-to-end tests with Playwright. The capstone is a full application, built feature by feature, deployed with Docker behind a reverse proxy with TLS. The final module covers portfolio presentation, reading job descriptions honestly and preparing for the technical screens that actually appear.
